A Los Angeles County work crew discovered the body of an 18-year-old man Tuesday morning in a creek bed off Sierra Highway in Santa Clarita, authorities said.
Sheriff’s homicide detectives said the man had suffered multiple gunshot wounds in his torso and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 10 a.m. A gun was found near the body.
The crew was cleaning the area beneath a bridge in the 17300 block of Sierra Highway north of Soledad Canyon Road when they discovered the body. Investigators have not determined the man’s identity, Deputy Rick Varela said.
Anyone with information about the shooting or the man’s identity is asked to call sheriff’s detectives at (323) 890-5500.
