Student Sought in Fatal Shooting of Classmate

Police were searching Tuesday for a North Hollywood High School student suspected of shooting to death a female classmate.
Jamarie Johnie Chatrie, 18, of North Hollywood was being sought in the death of Shadene Thompson, 18, whose body was found about 11 p.m. Monday outside an apartment building on Huston Street in North Hollywood, said Los Angeles Police Det. Vince Bancroft.
Police described Chatrie, who identified himself to acquaintances as being Jamaican, as about 5-foot-5. They say he has a burn scar on his right rear shoulder.
