Airport Votes to Buy More Luggage Scanners

MARIPOSA — San Francisco International Airport is trying to secure explosive-detecting luggage scanners before a rush from other airports. Airport commissioners Tuesday agreed to pay $19.3 million for 11 scanners, an outlay that is subject to a vote by the airport board of supervisors.
