Cyclist Hit by Car Is in Critical Condition

A Camarillo man suffered severe head injuries Friday morning when he was struck by a car as he rode his bicycle south on Lewis Road near Camarillo.
Menashi Khazoom, 54, was taken to St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital after the collision, which occurred just before 7 a.m., said Officer Steve Reid of the California Highway Patrol.
He was listed in very critical condition Friday evening, hospital officials said.
The driver, David Sewell, 60, of Joshua Tree, was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard where he was treated for minor injuries and released, Reid said.
