A bakery owner exchanged gunfire with a man who allegedly accosted him outside his warehouse, police said Monday.
The suspect, James Patlan, 32, who was shot three times Sunday night, was taken by friends to Glendale Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for wounds to an arm and a leg, police said.
Patlan, who authorities said is a transient, is being held in lieu of $1 million bail at Los Angeles County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder in the shooting of Armen Mkrtumyan, 44.
Mkrtumyan, who was shot in the leg, drove himself to the police station about 10 p.m. to report the incident, which occurred in the 400 block of Los Feliz Boulevard.
Mkrtumyan was taken by ambulance to Glendale Memorial.
