State Geologist Retires After 25 Years

Jim Davis retired Monday as California’s state geologist after 25 years on the job, according to an announcement from the state Department of Conservation.
Michael Reichle, a senior geologist, was named to lead the search for a new state geologist.
Davis had served as New York’s state geologist for 10 years before coming to California.
