AT&T; Wireless to Cut Staff, Relocate Jobs

AT&T; Wireless said it would cut hundreds of jobs this year as it tries to lower its costs.
The Redmond, Wash.-based company is consolidating its administrative operations, now spread out in dozens of locations across the country, in Redmond and the New Jersey-New York area, a spokesman said. Employees who declined the option of relocating are being cut from the payroll with severance, he said.
The changes could result in a “low single-digit” percentage reduction in the company’s payroll of 31,000, he said.
