CBS’ ‘Cupid’ misses its target

“Cupid,” CBS’ unscripted dating series from acerbic “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell, scored fair but far from spectacular ratings in its premiere Wednesday.
More than 7.6 million viewers tuned in to the series, in which an advertising agency copywriter is looking for “the perfect mate.” The premiere far outdistanced ABC’s unscripted dating show, “The Dating Experiment,” which was watched by 3.6 million viewers.
CBS will repeat the “Cupid” premiere Tuesday.
