From Times Wire Reports
Rescuers in southern Bangladesh said 16 bodies had been recovered after a ferry capsized Tuesday with about 750 people aboard, and they had given up hope for more than 500 who were still missing.
Authorities said only 220 people aboard the Nasreen survived. The ferry sank at the meeting point of three flood-swollen rivers -- the Padma, Meghna and Dakatia -- about 50 miles southeast of the capital, Dhaka.
The as yet unfound ferry was believed to still hold the bodies of most of the victims.
