Mosley Signs With New Promoter

Shane Mosley, who is scheduled to face Oscar De La Hoya on Sept. 13, has signed with promoter Gary Shaw, The Times has learned.
Mosley, who struggled unsuccessfully for recognition and big paydays under a string of promoters, the latest being Cedric Kushner and IMG, agreed to the deal Thursday night in Los Angeles. IMG is still contractually entitled to a share of at least one more Mosley fight.
When he was at the Main Events boxing organization, Shaw promoted Fernando Vargas. Now operating independently, he is promoting the June 21 card at Staples Center, headlined by World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis.
