Rudy Estrada, Covina Northview: Hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning and earned his second save by striking out the side in the seventh in a 6-5 victory over San Dimas that clinched the Valle Vista League title.

Clark Hardman, Mission Viejo: Singled home Chad Lucas with two out in the top of the seventh inning for the No. 18 Diablos in a 3-2 South Coast League victory over Mission Viejo Trabuco Hills.

Horace Aldrete, Whittier: The left-hander pitched a three-hitter with 15 strikeouts in a 6-1 victory over Pico Rivera El Rancho that tied the teams atop the Del Rio League with 10-2 records.

SOFTBALL

Sharee Zaleski, Santa Ana Mater Dei: Had two-run single in a three-run third inning for the No. 1 Monarchs in a 4-3 Serra League victory over No. 12 Rosary, which got a two-run triple from Kaitlin Cochran.

Teena Melendez, L.A. Franklin: Hit a two-run home run with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning in a 4-3 Northern League victory over L.A. Marshall.

BOYS’ GOLF

Hee Joo Son, Torrance: The freshman shot a one-under-par 35 at Los Verdes Golf Course for the No. 8 Tartars in a 181-230 Ocean League victory over West Torrance.
