A 16-year-old girl was shot to death just outside her home in Sun Valley on Monday night, possibly by a gang member, police said.
Martha Puebla was with her family in the 7600 block of Case Avenue when she stepped outside to talk to someone at 10:40 p.m., Los Angeles Police Sgt. John Pasquariello said.
Moments later, gunfire rang out. The girl’s father ran outside and found her dead, shot several times, Pasquariello said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses reported seeing a young man wearing what appeared to be gang clothing flee the scene, Pasquariello said.
Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at (818) 623-4045.
