Re “Outgunned, Texas Democrats Vamoose,” May 13: I loved the story of the Texas Democrats hiding out in Oklahoma. I wish to point out that they are following a noble tradition: Abraham Lincoln, when he was serving in the Illinois state Legislature in 1840, jumped out of a second-story window in an attempt to prevent a quorum.
