L.A., Other Cities to Get Millions for Security

The nation’s capital will get more than $42 million, Los Angeles $18.9 million and San Francisco $18.6 million to improve security under new Homeland Security Department grants.
The department announced $700 million for cities, ports and mass transit systems. The funds can be used to help defray the costs of heightened security during the recent Code Orange alert.
