A Brea man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of carjacking after police said he knocked down a woman outside the Brea Mall and stole her car.
Justin Carl Ransome, 33, also faces charges of forgery and burglary stemming from an unrelated credit card theft.
Police said Ransome approached Susan Park, 22, about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday and asked her for the time. He then sprayed her with an unidentified chemical, knocked her down and stole her car keys, police said.
Park was treated for minor injuries, including eye irritation. Her car was recovered at a nearby church.
