Chandra Levy Is Buried in Quiet Service

Chandra Levy was buried Tuesday, more than a year after her remains were discovered in a Washington, D.C., park.
About 50 people attended the quiet service, said Kim Petersen, a family friend. The burial had been delayed because the medical examiner did not release Levy’s remains until Friday.
Levy, 24, disappeared on May 1, 2001. Her case drew national attention because of her affair with Rep. Gary Condit, (D-Ceres).
Police do not consider him a suspect, but Condit, 54, lost his bid for reelection last year.
Levy’s remains were discovered last May. Her skull was fractured, but an autopsy did not determine how she died.
