Shooting Suspect Ruled Competent

A man charged in a series of highway shootings around central Ohio is competent to stand trial despite suffering from paranoid schizophrenia, according to a psychiatrist.
In a sworn statement filed with the court in Columbus, Dr. Mark Mills said Charles A. McCoy Jr. understood the charges against him and was able to help his attorneys with his defense. McCoy, 28, has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
