Forest Officials Enact Fire Safety Measures
- Share via
Less than a week after the containment of three fires that charred more than 30,000 acres in northwest Los Angeles County, Angeles National Forest officials announced restrictions aimed at reducing the fire risk.
For now, the forest will remain open, but smoking is banned except in enclosed vehicles and buildings, and wood fires of any kind are not permitted. Camp stoves fueled by compressed gas or jellied petroleum are allowed, with a permit, in Manker Campground, Coldbrook Campground, the Oaks Picnic Area, the West Fork Day Use Area, Glenn Campground and portions of San Gabriel Canyon and San Antonio Canyon.
