A portion of Poche Beach in South County was ordered closed Tuesday by the county after a faulty pressure valve caused a spill of treated sewage.
The beach, on the border of San Clemente and Dana Point, was closed to swimming, surfing and diving, said Monica Mazur, a spokeswoman for the county environmental health division.
About 50 gallons of sewage spilled. The closure area is 100 feet on each side of Poche Creek. The closure will be in effect until bacteria levels are acceptable.
