City Saves $288,000 in PR Pact Terminations

Two months after Mayor James K. Hahn ordered city officials to cancel or phase out all public relations contracts, his office reported that seven pacts have been terminated early for a saving of $287,980.
Hahn issued his order after the Department of Water and Power was criticized for paying $3 million annually to the public relations firm Fleishman-Hillard Inc. The company recently announced it is not renewing its contracts with the city when they expire.
