Man Held in Alleged Attack on Relative

A 35-year-old man was held on $1 million bail Thursday after allegedly attacking a female relative with a kitchen knife.
Police said Irineo Carlos Sanchez went to the 54-year-old woman’s home in Azusa on Wednesday, locked the door and held a knife to her throat. The woman struggled, cutting her hand, and fled the house in the 900 block of Calle Del Cielo. A neighbor called police, police said.
Police arrested Sanchez at his workplace in La Puente. Authorities would not specify the man’s relationship to the woman.
