* Posting its seventh straight weekly increase, the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate rose to an eight-month high of 6.12% last week from 6.01% the week before, Freddie Mac said. The 15-year fixed rate rose to 5.47% from 5.35%. The one-year adjustable rate was 3.76%, up from 3.75%.
* More California households were priced out of median-priced homes in March. The state Assn. of Realtors said the percentage of households that could afford the $428,280 median priced home was 21%, down 7 percentage points from a year ago.
