Lockheed Refiles Protests Against Rival

Lockheed Martin Corp. said it had refiled two protests seeking U.S. revocation of Boeing Co. contracts valued at more than $6 billion, part of the biggest Pentagon procurement scandal in more than a decade.

Originally filed with the Air Force, the protests were refiled with the Government Accountability Office, Congress’ audit and investigative arm. Former Air Force acquisition official Darleen Druyun sparked the legal action by admitting in court last month that she improperly steered business to Boeing.

The Pentagon’s top weapons buyer, Michael Wynne, said he preferred the GAO handle the protests to make sure they were decided independently of any officials linked to Druyun.
