Airbus, the world’s largest commercial plane maker, won an order for 10 A321 aircraft from Vietnam Airlines Corp.
The Vietnamese government has approved the purchase by the state-owned carrier, said John Leahy, chief commercial officer of Toulouse, France-based Airbus.
The first of the 185-seat aircraft, which have a catalog price of $70 million to $75 million each, is scheduled for delivery in early 2006, with a second to arrive later that year, Vietnam’s Thanh Nien newspaper reported. Four more are set for delivery in 2007, two in 2008 and two in 2009.
