Man Held in Killings of 4 Relatives

LIVINGSTON, Texas — Four people were found shot to death inside a burning mobile home Thursday, and a relative in his 70s admitted to the shooting and surrendered, police said.
Sheriff Billy Ray Nelson identified the victims as the man’s wife, daughter, son-in-law and teenage grandson.
“When he turned himself in he showed no signs of remorse,” Nelson said. “He was very calm. He just wanted to report it.”
The names of the victims and the man were withheld pending notification of relatives.
Deputies responding to the scene found the mobile home on fire and called firefighters. The home had mainly smoke damage. Nelson said the home belonged to the man’s daughter and son-in-law. He said the man’s wife had left their nearby home and moved in with her daughter.
Nelson said officers found a .38-caliber revolver in the man’s home that they suspect was used in the shootings.
The deaths occurred at the Escapees RV Club, a trailer park about 75 miles northeast of Houston. A neighbor told Houston television station KHOU the man was upset about his wife wanting a divorce after 51 years of marriage.
