Northwest Posts Loss of $346 Million in 6 Weeks

Northwest Airlines Corp. lost $346 million during its first six weeks in bankruptcy protection, the company said.
The loss included $136 million from operations and $158 million for reorganization expenses from its Chapter 11 filing on Sept. 14 to Oct. 31, according to a report filed in Bankruptcy Court in New York. The rest of the loss included items such as interest expense.
The loss for the period came on revenue of $1.57 billion.
