Man Killed After Wounding Officer

A man who shot and wounded a Turlock police officer was killed by another officer early Friday.
The injured officer was in a stable condition at a Modesto hospital, officials said.
The officer was shot while chasing the driver and passenger of a car he had pulled over, officials said.
The officer was running after the two men when the driver turned and fired, hitting the officer in the chest, arm and leg, police said.
A second officer joined the chase, and the driver fired at him as well. The officer returned fire, killing the driver, police said.
