In a nutshell, I think the great thing that’s happened is the continued resurgence of this great roots music scene here.... When I moved back from Nashville about four years ago, I was really delighted that it had kind of been revived and was going stronger than ever. Chris Morris from the Hollywood Reporter started hosting the “Watusi Rodeo” radio show on Indie 103. That’s a great outlet for roots music....And Shilah Morrow is continuing her efforts to broaden awareness of the roots music scene here. She has Sweethearts of the Rodeo night at Molly Malone’s, and she started this new thing down at the Mint, where she’s booking every Friday night.
On a personal note, I wrote 25 new songs.
As far as the negative stuff, I would have to go back to the victims of the hurricane and whatever music that affected in New Orleans.... Obviously what happened down there affected the whole global music community.
