Help Sought in Finding Slain Man’s Relatives

Medical examiners are asking for the public’s help in finding relatives of a homeless man fatally injured in a brawl.
Arles Dean Allen, 71, also known as “Sonny,” died of head injuries Tuesday resulting from a Dec. 9 fight with another homeless man, said James Baroni, Ventura County chief deputy medical examiner. A suspect, Alberto Luis Acevedo, 23, has been arrested.
Allen, born in Oklahoma, may have had a sister who lived in the San Fernando Valley, Baroni said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the medical examiner’s office at (805) 641-4400.
