Travel agents can still get you there

REGARDING “No Room at the Inn? Maybe, but Keep Banging on the Door” (The Internet Traveler, Dec. 11): I found it amusing that someone would drive themselves crazy trying to book a room on third-party Internet sites, or any sites, spending weeks trying to get availability when all they had to do was call a travel agent.
Travel agents can book a room in a few seconds as well as offer negotiated rates and promotions as good or better than Internet sites.
