Acting her age

KUDOS to Earl Pomerantz’s Counterpunch article [“Are 18-49ers Really Worth the Wooing?” Dec. 19]. I see why he is an Emmy-winning writer. When I was in the coveted demographic, I didn’t have the money or the time to watch a lot of television because of the multi-tasking of kids, work, advanced degree studies, kids’ activities and creating a home. Now I’m retired and have tons of discretionary income. And I have all the prescription medicine, head and foot lifting beds, electric wheelchairs, health care plans, dental plans and Dr Scholl’s footpads that I need.

What I am interested in and can afford are travel destinations, new home theater equipment, computer equipment, exercise equipment, comfortable clothes that fit and camera equipment for those overseas trips. Show me some of those commercials and I may not zip through them on my recorded shows.
