PETA Should Let Aquarium Off the Hook
My initial impression after reading “Aquarium Shouldn’t Serve Fish, PETA Says,” June 28, was that The Times fell for a practical joke. I find it hard to believe that the favorite food of the Aquarium of the Pacific’s many inhabitants is taboo for us humans. Or is PETA suggesting that we persuade the pinnipeds about the virtue of a tofu diet? Isn’t it preferable to eat fish from an institution that promotes sustainable sources rather than from the row of seafood restaurants just outside its doors? Surely there are better causes for PETA to pursue.

Serve fish at the aquarium? Why not? What do they feed the sharks -- tofu?
