Downed Power Lines Cause Fire in Anaheim

About 25 homes in an Anaheim neighborhood were briefly evacuated Wednesday after downed power lines ignited trees in a backyard.
The 5 p.m. fire in the 400 block of North Manti Drive was contained, and residents were allowed to return to their homes after about an hour, said Maria Sabol, a spokeswoman for the Anaheim Fire Department.
About 90 homes and businesses were expected to remain without power for the remainder of the evening, she said. The cause of the downed power lines is under investigation.
