The Chicago comedy club that helped launch the career of Mike Myers, and its counterpart in Los Angeles, are changing their names after the U.S. Olympic Committee threatened to sue over trademark infringement, the club’s owner said.
Charna Halpern, director and owner of ImprovOlympic, said the club on Chicago’s North Side, which opened more than 20 years ago, is in the process of changing its name to I.O.
The Chicago club’s 5-year-old counterpart in Los Angeles, ImprovOlympic West, will change its name to I.O. West, Halpern said.
