A man who confessed to throwing a grenade toward President Bush and Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili was charged with murder in the separate killing of a policeman during a shootout that preceded his arrest Wednesday.
The grenade, thrown during a rally in Tbilisi in May, landed about 100 feet from the podium and did not explode.
Investigators were searching for a motive. In a video shown Thursday, Vladimir Arutyunian admitted throwing the grenade.
