Broadway’s numbers are flat

Despite the largest number of Tony-eligible productions in more than 20 years, attendance and box-office grosses on Broadway during the 2004-05 theater season were virtually flat from last year.
Grosses reached $768.6 million this season, according to figures released by the League of American Theatres and Producers, compared with $755.3 million for the same period a year ago. Attendance was 11.53 million this year versus 11.36 million in the same period last year.
