Kort Earns Top Baseball Honor

Shaun Kort, a junior outfielder-pitcher who led Woodland Hills El Camino Real to its first City Section baseball championship since 1998, has been selected the City’s player of the year by a panel of sportswriters.
Kort was 9-1 on the mound and hit 10 home runs. In the City final at Dodger Stadium, he had a two-run triple during a 5-1 victory over Chatsworth.

Simi Valley catcher Bryan Anderson, selected in the fourth round by the St. Louis Cardinals in Major League Baseball’s amateur draft, is scheduled to play in the 24th San Fernando Valley All-Star game at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cal State Northridge.
