Boy Found in Hot Tub Dies in the Hospital

A 3 1/2 -year-old boy died Monday after being pulled unconscious from a Newport Beach hot tub, authorities said.
Police responded to a call at 5:35 p.m. from a woman who saw the boy at the bottom of a hot tub at the Newport Terrace condominium complex, said Newport Beach Police Sgt. Bill Hartford.
Officers arrived at the complex, at the intersection of Balboa Boulevard and Discovery Drive, and found the boy’s father trying to resuscitate the child. The boy died shortly after arriving at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian.
Detectives are investigating, Hartford said.
