When’s flash time?

Regarding “A Trick of the Eye or a Real Flash in the Sky?” [April 26]: I have to wonder how the writer would expect to see the green flash in the morning? The only green flashes I’ve seen (one was at Laguna Beach, the others in the Cook Islands) were in the evening just when the sun dips below the horizon. There is at least one cafe on the beach in Mexico that at the end of each day invites patrons to order a cool drink, sit on the patio and wait for the green flash.
