Minogue thanks fans for support

Australian pop star Kylie Minogue thanked her fans Thursday for the outpouring of support since she announced she has breast cancer. Her manager said she would undergo surgery this week.

And there was a glimmer of good news for Minogue: Doctors say the breast cancer does not appear to have spread to other parts of her body.

In a brief statement, Minogue’s manager, Terry Blamey, said the 36-year-old singer was being treated in her hometown of Melbourne and would undergo “an operation this week by one of Australia’s leading surgeons.”
