3 Men Face Charges in Death of Fish

Misdemeanor charges were filed Thursday against three men in the death of a giant sea bass, a protected species, in the ocean off La Jolla.
Omid Adhami, 34, and Nima Nodaji, 26, are accused of killing the 171-pound bass with a spear gun, and Navid Adibi, 22, was allegedly operating the boat that took the two others into the La Jolla Marine Conservation Area.
Each defendant faces from 2 1/2 years to 3 years in jail and a fine of more than $20,000.
