Philadelphia Transit Strike Is Settled

Subways, trolleys and buses started rolling again for the first time in a week after Philadelphia transit workers agreed to end a strike that forced more than 400,000 daily riders to find some other way to get around.
After an all-night bargaining session, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority reached a tentative agreement Monday on a contract with 5,300 union employees. The main issue was how much they would have to contribute to healthcare.
The four-year pact must be ratified by the workers.
