Prominent Opposition Figure Is Found Slain

Zamanbek Nurkadilov, an outspoken critic of Kazakh President Nursultan A. Nazarbayev, was found dead at home Saturday evening with two gunshot wounds to his chest and one to his head, family lawyer Serikkali Musin said.
The opposition said the killing, occurring before the Dec. 4 presidential election, had political overtones. Nazarbayev ordered an investigation.
Nurkadilov, 61, was a member of the opposition movement For a Just Kazakhstan.
