3 Suspects Arrested in Slaying of CHP Officer

Three people were arrested early Friday during a massive manhunt that followed the fatal shooting of a California Highway Patrol officer.
A man and a woman, both 20, were arrested outside a hotel in Rocklin, northeast of Sacramento, shortly after 3 a.m.
A deputy had spotted a vehicle that matched witnesses’ description of the car driven by the gunman, Yolo County Sheriff’s Capt. Larry Cecchettini said.
A second man was arrested later Friday.
Officer Andy Stevens, 37, a 13-year Highway Patrol veteran who was a commercial vehicle inspector, was shot and killed Thursday during a traffic stop near Woodland, about 20 miles northwest of Sacramento.
Stevens was married and had no children.
