More than 12 million people tuned into a “Dateline” special on NBC Wednesday night, according to Nielsen Media Research. An ABC News special garnered more than 9.3 million viewers, while more than 8.2 million tuned into a CBS special report.
Meanwhile, Fox News Channel’s hurricane coverage helped it pull in its biggest prime-time audience of the year Wednesday -- an average of 4.9 million. CNN drew 3.6 million in prime time.
