Staying connected

THANK you for publishing the essay of recollections of one family’s trip to Seattle for the Keith Urban concert [“Songs for a Daughter, Gifts From Strangers,” Aug. 28]. I am a member of the Keith Urban fan club, Monkeyville, and the parent of an 11-year-old, so I particularly enjoyed it. The descriptions of the daughters’ experiences at the concert touched my heart.
The essay should be required reading for all parents of “tweens,” as it shows parents just how quickly days go by with your children and that parents must make efforts to stay connected with their kids as they grow up. Keith himself sums it up like this: “You better start livin’ right now, ‘cause days go by....”
