LAPD Asked to Explain Crime Reporting Change

City Councilman Bernard C. Parks introduced a motion Tuesday asking the Police Department to prepare a report explaining recent changes in domestic violence crime reporting.
The department recently changed how it counts domestic violence incidents, allowing it to substantially overstate how much crime dropped this year.
