Arenas stops Bucks with a buzzer-beater

Gilbert Arenas got the ball with the score tied and six seconds to play. He dribbled downcourt, read Charlie Bell’s retreating feet, stopped and stroked a perfect jumper 32 feet from the basket.
“Once I let it go, I’m like, ‘That’s in,’ ” Arenas said. “I don’t even need to look at this one.”
He didn’t. He turned with a snarl and a strut as the ball swished through the net, giving Arenas another signature moment and the Wizards a 108-105 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks at Washington.
“I thought he would take one more dribble,” Bell said. “I give him credit. They say he has no conscience, and he doesn’t.”
Arenas finished with 32 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.
Caron Butler had 29 points, seven rebounds and a career-high nine assists for Washington.
Michael Redd led the Bucks with 27 points.
Neither team led by double digits, and there were 25 lead changes.
Phoenix 100, Toronto 98 -- Only one for seven from the field through three quarters, Steve Nash scored 13 of his 15 points in the fourth to help the Suns hold on at Toronto.
Nash scored eight of Phoenix’s final nine points and finished with nine assists to help the Suns improve to 22-3 since a 1-5 start.
Chris Bosh returned from a 12-game injury absence and had 26 points and 14 rebounds for the Raptors, who led twice in the final two minutes after trailing by 17 points in the first half.
Memphis 144, Golden State 135 -- Mike Miller made nine of 12 three-point shots and scored a season-high 33 points, and the host Grizzlies used a late 16-5 run to win for the second time in three games under interim Coach Tony Barone.
Golden State’s Matt Barnes had a career-high 36 points.
Houston 103, Seattle 96 -- Tracy McGrady scored 31 points to help the host Rockets win their fourth in a row and improve to 4-1 since Yao Ming was sidelined by a broken leg.
Ray Allen scored 32 for Seattle, which lost its 10th in a row on the road despite 50% shooting.
Minnesota 103, San Antonio 101 -- The Timberwolves prevailed in overtime after blowing a 16-point second-quarter lead at Minneapolis.
Mark Blount scored 28 points and Kevin Garnett had 27 points and 17 rebounds for Minnesota.
Manu Ginobili led San Antonio with 26 points.
Cleveland 107, Boston 104 -- LeBron James scored 32 points to help the visiting Cavaliers beat the Celtics for the seventh straight time.
Boston’s Wally Szczerbiak missed a three-pointer at the buzzer. Tony Allen scored 22 for Boston.
Utah 98, Philadelphia 87 -- Matt Harpring scored 12 of his 20 points in the Jazz’s 35-point third quarter in a victory at Salt Lake City.
Andre Miller had 17 points and five assists for Philadelphia, which dropped to 2-4 on a trip that ends Friday at Minnesota.
New York 99, Portland 81 -- Eddy Curry had 27 points, and the visiting Knicks led by as many as 21 points in ending a three-game losing streak. Zach Randolph had 15 points and nine rebounds for the Portland, losers of four in a row after a five-game winning streak.

Former UCLA forward Cedric Bozeman was waived by Atlanta. He played in 23 games with five starts, averaging 1.1 points.... New Jersey traded guard Jeff McInnis, 32, to Charlotte for swingman Bernard Robinson, 26. McInnis, who had a falling-out with Nets Coach Lawrence Frank during rehabilitation from knee surgery, has been on the inactive list all season.
