The city attorney’s office has filed papers to join a public-nuisance lawsuit over lead-based paint, officials said Thursday.
The city joins litigation already filed by San Francisco, Oakland and San Diego that alleges 10 makers of lead-based paint, including Sherwin-Williams Co. and Glidden Co., have not revealed hazards posed by their products.
The lawsuit calls for the abatement of all lead from public homes, buildings and property throughout the state.
