Man fatally shot, five people wounded

A 25-year-old man was shot dead and five other people were wounded in a shooting early Sunday, authorities said.
The shooting occurred in the 200 block of Santa Mariana Avenue, near Valley Boulevard, about 12:30 a.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Johnie Jones said.
Jones did not know the circumstances of the shootings or the condition of the survivors.
The 25-year-old’s identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin, L.A. County Coroner’s Lt. Cheryl MacWillie said.
